A walk in nature

It's been a crazy and hectic month of March. We had so much happenings within the family and though we are truly sad with our sudden loss, departing is part and parcel of life. All the good memories we share will always be a part of us and life goes on :)

Anyway, the cousins & I went on an impromptu morning hike at MacRitchie Reservoir two Sunday back! I haven't visited this popular park for more than 10 years and it was such a beauty. It feels good to get back to nature to breathe some fresh air and do some light workout, specially on a beautiful day. I enjoyed exploring the forest and trails alot!

It was a breeze getting up to the HSBC Tree Top Walk.... but this was only just beginning! We had the option of going down which leads to the start or back to Zhenghua park. Since it was only a difference of 1 km+, we chose the latter of course and it was not that NEARRRRR. By the time we reached bpp after a 14km walk, it was noon and our legs were sore. But it was all worth for the yummylicious pb toast set at Wangjiao, our reward for the day! I would definitely love to do this trail once more!

Hello February

Hello 1st of February! All excited about the new month that rolled in because it's one of my favourite time of the year :) I anticipate CNY each year not only because I love our streets in bright red hues but I also look forward to the yearly tradition of Reunion dinner (steamboat!), excited chatter and laughter with families and friends & feasting on special dishes.
Other than that, I have more to be eager about! In less than 80 days, I'll be flying to Canada with my mom for a 3 weeks vacation :D It has got to be our first mother-daughter vacation and this trip couldn't be more timely.

Canada has always been on our wishlist. It's finally coming true and we could not be more stoked! Anyway, we're heading to Ontario and will be staying at my aunt's place. Other than playing tourist at some of the places of interest, we should also be making weekends road trip or tour to the states for outlet stores shopping, visit to farmer's market, etc!
We will of course be visiting the magnificent and spectacular Niagara falls & probably doing a 1 night stay as well!
Since we're already there, I wouldn't want to pass up a chance to visit New York City, Washington, etc. I'm already dreaming of the Broadway, Times Square, Central Park, Wall Street, Manhattan Skyline, etc.. so in love at the sight of this <3

Any other more suggestions of what we can/should do or visit there? ;)

The Burger Bar

Huge, yummy, juicy burger for lunch yesterday with the favourite boy. This was at The Burger Bar by the FatBoy's. I haven't had such a good handmade & tasty hamburger for a long while (if you compare to Mac/KFC)

Anyway, what I really love about is their build-your-own-burger menu! :) We get to choose from a wide array of buns, patties, add-ons and sauces. I had beef & portobello whilst Jack chose pork & bacon. The burger was so huge I had to eat it layer by layer. Their basket of fries was also good, fries are vegetables :p

After a filling lunch, we went for Motor-show & shopping. What a lovely Saturday! <3

#Projectdeclutter

Oh hiiiiii, happy mid-week! :) Started this week running around with many meetings lined up & reports due, finally halfway there! Anyway, the last weekend was well-spent my fav girlfriend since the boyfriend was out of town :) we went crazy from 1 hour of hot vinyasa (visit to sadhana finally!) to 3 hours of shopping, and another 3.5 hours at Ikea. Boy were we drained at the end of day. The kind of body ache, ya' know??

We went window shopping at Pazzion. I've always love their collection of shoes (or C&K) but it's pretty pricey! Just saw this pair of new arrival on their Facebook and I'm pretty tempted to get it too. Maybe navy for flats, and maroon for heels? hehe.

Shopping at Ikea (or shopping generally) is always therapeutic! After a Swedish dinner, we roamed around with our shopping cart for 4 hours. Needless to say, we didn't left empty handed :p Ikea always gives me the inspiration to make the most of out my room or simply declutter, which is one of my goals this year.

I'm quite a messy girl by default, and I like to fill my tiny room with lots of things. I'm simply drowning in all my possessions. hahaha. Anyway, my mission on Sunday after regular breakfast & groceries shopping with the family was to organise my room, starting from my desk!

Before:

Tadah!
This organising not only clears my room but instantly clear my mind and lift my mood! Felt so much better doing my work on a clean desk. Let's hope this lasts! So next part of my decluttering project would probably be my wardrobe... ermm, I'll leave that to the weekends!

Just had dinner at Nara Thai & desserts at PB with Jack's family. Quite drained after a long day, gonna catch my zz monster before Thursday comes again. Ciaos!

Happy twenty fifteen 2015!

Hello, and happy Day 6 of 2015. First entry of the year and I'm actually excited to be typing in this space. Why? Because... I've finally gotten my hands on a MacBook Air!! Haha but right now, I'm still trying to figure and get used to the new interface and all. New year, new laptop. This is so light and thin, I love it :) Anyway, I had a great time and break from work the past 2 weeks. Xmas, New Year and the long weekends, what a great way to end the year off! 2014 has yet been another wonderful year, it's a lot about work now but I also make a point to take a break. The highlight of the year gotta be my delayed grad trip with the girls to Bangkok & 8 days in Taiwan with Jack! I can't wait for greater adventures with my mom this year.

So this week marks the start of a brand new week & year back at work. Not much time to work on list of resolutions but this 2015, I'd just like to keep in check the following:

1. Technology Step back - We are controlled by technology so much these days! Social medias (fb, instagram, twitter), whatsapp, online shopping, etc. Don't get me wrong. Social media helps to reconnect and educate one but face it, we're way too connected (or I am). I hope to focus more on real life instead. Disconnect, or do whatever floats my boat!

2. Declutter - I feel that too much clutter scattering around my room actually weighs one down. So I guess it's time to declutter my bedroom, throw the excess and keep everything in proper! Hopefully, it helps me to be more organised as well.

3. Read more -  Reminder to self - "Never stop learning". My bookworm mode is on lately :) I've finished 1 book so far, 'Sons of Fortune' by Jeffrey Archer. It was recommended by my dear colleague and it was great. Hopping to my 2nd for the year, and may I expand my selection of genres too lol

4. Cultivate Positivity - Some days, we'll be in terrible mood and be angry at ourselves or everyone else. Stay cool, remember each day is different, banish negativity in life. More importantly, do what feels right for you!

Have a wonderful twenty fifteen ahead! xo

Brunch x The Lokal

Brunch on mid-week is a luxury. Jack & I visited The Lokal with the Pangs on Diwali Wednesday for a lazy double date. We were lucky to get cosy sofa seats. The no crowd & rainy weather was a plus point as well. Both TY and I had Pimp my breakfast - I had my choice of poached eggs, sourdough, smoked salmon and mushrooms - while the guys ordered off menu. We had our caffeine fix of course, and the cup of black in my opinion was good. Definitely some quality time spent catching up with this pair of lovely friends at one of the best cafe serving great Australian fare :)

Sad to bid goodbye to the weekends and the last week of October. How time flies! x

Weekends x Toby's Estate

Weekends... are love! It's been a long while since J & I cafe-hopped. We took full advantage of the long weekend and spent the whole quiet Sunday together :) Since we were near Rodyk Street, we decided to have coffee and cake at Toby's Estate. I've been wanting to visit the cafe long time back but it was so out of way.

Both of us love fresh coffee and we enjoyed our cup of black thoroughly. It was good, and fragrant. Coffee is always a good idea. We also ordered a slice of Peanut Butter Chocolate Cheesecake (sinful yeahhhh) since it was their specialty. The cake, at first bite was okay only... but gets more delightful after each mouth. I love the ambiance at Toby's. Big space, high ceilings and overlooks the Singapore River. We spent some time relaxing there before heading for our popcorn & chips Dracula movie date! Our night ended with Sushis, foot massage & a staycay, such is life :)

On a side note, I'm hooked on The Big Bang Theory! Started yesterday and more than halfway through Season 1. Feels like a good replacement for the end of himym for me. haha.

Good bye weekends, till the next!
